The annual Mangrove Mountain & Districts Country Fair is the 'Jewel in the Crown' of the area's unique community life. It is a place to catch up with friends and neighbours, share some old-fashioned country customs and discover new local rural enterprise.
The Mangrove Mountain Districts; Somersby, Central Mangrove, Peats Ridge, Calga, Mt. White, Kulnura, Buckety, Spencer, Lower Mangrove and Mangrove Mountain, can be found in the hinterland west of the escarpment of the Central Coast of NSW. The area is a unique rural district with a surprising diversity of activities.
See some of them at the only country fair in the region - from cows to computers, art to astronomy, with championship woodchopping, farm animals, farm produce displays, handcrafts, music, plants, home made preserves etc. – with a few surprises thrown in.
Mangrove Mountain is a place with no mountain and no mangroves.
Come and discover what there is.
“To all who would sooth their unsettled nerves, revive their jaded spirits, regain their lusty health and appetite – to all who seek the tonic of pure mountain air, the whole day long and the clear night through – the call to Mangrove Mountain is irresistible.” from 1928 advertisement for Clarrie Jenkins Blue Bus Service
